How to Get Started in Your Internet Home Based Business

Most people are overwhelmed by all the different ways there are to market on the internet. Like me, there seems to be a so called expert on every page you look at.
But there are some basic steps to getting started without getting a migraine. Ask yourself 5 questions.
1. How Much Time Do I Have?
Most people in the know suggest that 10-15 hours per week are a minimum. If you have more time than that then you can use more marketing methods. If you’re working in a team you can do this faster.
2. Which Marketing Methods Should I Use?
Internet marketing can be broken down into three broad categories:
- Social Media – such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, MySpace, and others
- Content – including articles, Squidoo, video, press releases, and others
- Paid Advertising – including Pay Per Click, Solo Advertising, and List Building
If you only have 10 – 15 hours per week you should choose only one from each category. If you have more time, then you could increase another choice from each method for every extra hour you can put in.
Be very careful with your paid advertising. Set strict limits and constantly monitor what is happening.
3. How Can I Learn About The Methods I Choose in Depth?
First, don’t wait while you learn. Get going. While you’re working there is plenty of information on the internet on how to do each method – and you don’t need to pay for most of it either.
4. Do I Have to Plan?
Plan your work then work your plan. If you don’t have an idea of how much time you’re going to work on each method you will probably become discouraged and quit. Plans help set goals and goals help eat the elephant one bite at a time.
5. How Can I Know I’m Succeeding?
Children learn by making mistakes. You’re no different except that children quickly try again. The more mistakes you make the closer you are to winning. As you improve, so will your internet home based business and slowly but surely you will be on your way to internet marketing success.
