This works well, but many marketers are ignorant of the fact that there are limitless possibilities for making money online outside of the Internet marketing niche. There are numerous under-served niches out there that are just waiting for savvy marketers to swoop in and dominate them.
The key to dominating a niche is to understand the crowd. The easiest way to get a person to willingly separate with their money is to solve a problem that they have. Do you know anybody who is trying to lose weight? The weight loss crowd is full of individuals who are desperate for a solution. This is what is known as a starving crowd. If you are able to position your offer in front of this starving crowd, then you will become wealthy.
Now before you starting having delusions of grandeur, it must be noted that this method has been oversimplified for the purpose of educating you about how it works. Understanding the principles behind this method is relatively easy, but actually implementing this method can be hard. As you probably already know, weight loss is an incredibly competitive niche. Searching for the keyword phrase “weight loss” on Google will return over a hundred million results. That’s over one hundred million websites competing with each other to get one of the ten coveted spots on the front page of Google.
Let’s forget about how much competition there is in Google for a minute and look at the number of competing products in the weight loss niche. As you may already know, ClickBank is the largest online retailer of digital products, so if you want to take a look at the existing products in a niche, then ClickBank is the first place you should look. If we do a search for weight loss products on ClickBank, you’ll find a ton of them.
Let’s head back to Google for a second and revisit that search for the phrase “weight loss” that we just did. Take a look at the paid ads to the right of the search results. A sure sign of a competitive niche is if Google is filled with paid ads for it. Here is an important secret to niche marketing success: instead of competing with broad keywords like “weight loss” or with generic weight loss products, try and find a way to find a more specific niche to dominate. Type in “weight loss low carb diet” in Google and see how many search results there are. Congratulations, you’ve found a subniche that is much easier to conquer than the broad niche!
