I pretty much have a niche market, I realize that. My blog is located at theresainmerida.blogspot.com , I also want to add another blog about cooking, is that a good tie in? Thank you!

Here are some ways you can promote your blog

    1. Create great content – everything starts with great content. Think ‘Linkbait” — or writing about stuff that would be so great that people will want to link to you. It can be a news hook where you write about something that is contrary to what everyone else is saying; resource hook where you have the only information available or humor hook.

    2. Update the content regularly – make your visitors come back again and again to your blog by providing daily updates (even multiple posts per day!)

    3. Submit your blog to blog directories such as

    Technorati http://www.technorati.com/ping.html
    DAYPOP http://www.daypop.com/info/submit.htm
    Feedster http://www.feedster.com/add.php

    4. Network with other bloggers – comment on their blogs, read and link to other blogs and request them to link back to you

    5. Email other bloggers – pitch your post to other bloggers and hope that they will link or mention your blog

    6. Use techniques to showcase your blog – examples include meme games such as the Daily Meme http://thedailymeme.com/ or carnivals http://blogcarnival.com/bc/

    7. You can try pay per click programs such as Google Adwords http://www.google.com/adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing http://searchmarketing.yahoo.c... – though the key is to carefully track your ROI and which keywords actually perform well

    8. Make sure your blog is indexable by the search engines – and make sure that your titles have great keywords that your target audience are most likely to use

    9. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

    10. Submit articles with your blog posts. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Blogging for bucks is the worst thing you can ever get into. Don’t fall for the hype that all these sites (problogger, technorati, etc) claim. No one actually sits there and clicks on ads just because they are lingering on your page. Another thing to consider, if your page is clicked on too often then don’t be surprised if your adwords account is cancelled because you are suspected of clicking on your own ads.

    Just word to the wise.

IMO that would be good idea. usually 2 post a week per blog would be enough to attract search engine spider crawl your blog often. for cooking blog you might put one favorite recipe for each post. there’s a lot to say actually but not much time so i would just leave you below with some resources to open your eyes quickly so you can achieve what you want a little bit faster. just remember success is a journey not a destination. so wish you the best.

I agree with the advice of imisidro…do those things and you should be fine. If you also join social network groups that helps, like Facebook, Digg, and make a lot of friends.

I do blog for money like using Pay Per Post and Sponsored Reviews, and so do a lot of my friends, and they have not had the negative experience that one of your responders wrote.

Make sure you read a lot about blogging, and how to do it. Read other professional blogs that give advice. You will learn from their mistakes.
