Tthe control of matter on an atomic and molecular scale, usually developing materials or devices within structures of 100 nanometers or smaller.
This is a very wide concept, beginning with simply better physical devices to possibly controlling matter on an atomic scale.
Personally, I believe India will be one of the great contributors to the world in the way of applied theory. You would need to find your own business opportunities there, and what they would require of you for entering them, but if you can, the sky’s the limit.

I agree with Bert K – you’d have to find your own nanotechnology business opportunities in India. The people of India seem to be advancing technologically very quickly, and the work force is certainly intelligent enough to handle the work, given the proper training. I suspect there couldn’t be many nanotech business there. It seems like a great place to start one.

There must be tons of nanotechnology business opportunities in India right now. I suspect there aren’t many companies of that sort in that country at the moment. The people of that country are very bright and industrious. Seems like a perfect place to start a business.
