Affiliate Marketing on a Low Budget
Affiliate Marketing on the Cheap, Yet Effective
By Eric Rockefeller
If you are new to affiliate marketing and want to try things out before you invest major sums of money into your business venture, or maybe you just have a limited budget and are unwilling to spend large amounts of money on your affiliate marketing, then the three steps below will give you a way to get into the affiliate marketing arena without spending a fortune.
Find a suitable product, hopefully something you have a little knowledge about, the reason for this will become clear in point three. Any of the large affiliate networks such as ClickBank are great place to begin your search. Try and find a product that has a good sales history, without too much competition. If you are using ClickBank then there are host of reports and tools available on the ClickBank website to help you locate prime affiliate products.
Set up a simple review page, to do this you will need to find yourself some web hosting, you can use free hosting offers although you’d be best off investing in one of the budget options from one of the large hosting companies such Hostgator, these are fairly inexpensive and a much better than most of the free offers of web hosting you can find elsewhere. You can use a simple HTML editor, or even Microsoft Word to put together a simple review page. This page should describe the product in an upbeat, positive manner and convince visitors to your website that they want to buy your products. Use pictures and catchy sales orientated slogans when you can, remember this is equivalent your shop window, what people see here is what will tempt them to purchase your affiliate products. Obviously include a way to purchase the actual product, PayPal off “Buy Now” buttons which are great for this.
Write some articles, short pieces of website content around 400 words long which will talk about the general concepts or niche which your product is located within, but do not mentioned or discuss the product itself. This is why we need to choose a product that we know little about, as this makes writing these articles much easier. These articles will be submitted to free article directories (Google up a list of these), and will include a hyperlink to your website and review page. When people search the Internet and their results send them to your article upon one of the article directories, a percentage of visitors will click the hyperlink that leads to your site, thus creating traffic for you and bringing you prospective customers.
This is a basic three step process that can be used to market any affiliate product; these methods form the basis of the marketing techniques used by many affiliate marketers. Of course, these are very basic steps outlined above, and the whole subject can and does fill whole books. This article was designed to give you a very brief introduction to the main process of generating income from affiliate marketing. For more information about these techniques, there are whole host of excellent e-books available, alternatively try a quick Google search, there is a lot of excellent free information on the Internet which affiliate marketers can learn from.
