There are a lot of books about SEO and a lot of books about Drupal, but this is the first one I’ve seen specifically on SEO for Drupal sites. As such, it’s a tightly focused guide that is packed full of Drupal-specific optimization tips.

I was really impressed with the practical and helpful “how to” approach of this book. A lot of authors (myself included) can’t help but get preachy at times. But Ben manages to avoid that trap and stays laser-focused on his topic and providing concrete guidance for exactly how to optimize your site. There are plenty of helpful graphics and screen shots to help keep things interesting, and step-by-step explanations for how to do everything he recommends. This is definitely a reference guide that any Drupal developer or site manager should read and then keep within close reach.

I work for an SEO company in colorado as a php/javascript/drupal developer. I had written the staff training material for drupal, which includes drupal specific training for our optimization department.

What I can say about this book is that it pretty much covers exactly what I have in my material with a more comprehensive section on how to use RDF and Calais’ webAPI service, which is something well beyond the scope of most people’s understanding in our company. For example, when i say microformats or ‘semantic web’ to them, i might as well be speaking in tongues. But that’s ok, because now they have a copy of the book to learn these things.

In case you didn’t get it, I recommend this book!
