Trying to find legitimate work for stay at home moms can be a daunting task. In fact, you’re more likely to fall into the trap of doing a lot of work for a little bit of money. You can definitely stop that from happening to you if you know what to avoid.

Here are some things I have personally done, that I would not recommend:

Get paid to take surveys - There are some survey sites out there that are a lot of fun, and can actually be very profitable (like Cashcrate). There are others that are mere scams. If you come across an offer to pay a “small one time fee” to earn “hundreds for little work” run far, far away. All you’ll get is a list of links you could have found on the internet for free. Even then, the links are pretty much worthless.

Multi Level Marketing - There are many people who are very successful with MLMs. However, this is not the kind of work for stay at home moms I would recommend. The failure rate for this kind of work is staggering (it’s in the upper 90%). There are a lot easier and more profitable ways to make money online.

Online Tutoring - I was a teacher before I started working online, so being able to tutor online definitely appealed to me. However, it was a lot of work for very little money. The company I was with was very disorganized, and I had a bad experience all around. Yes, there are likely to be good tutoring companies you can join, but I’ve found that there are better and more profitable ways to spend my time.

There you have it. Those are ways to earn an income that might look appealing, but in actuality probably won’t help you achieve the lifestyle you’re looking to achieve. If you want to earn a full time income from home it’s best to emulate someone who has taken easy steps that you can follow. You can tweak that business model and build your own online empire from there.

Don’t get discouraged by this list of duds. If you have the determination and passion, there is nothing that can stand in your way. Start learning all you can to get started living your new life today. There is great work for stay at home moms, you just have to know where to look!
