How do I login to my work server from home?

I am now, Vista Business and Home Edition and running. I would like to be able to log on to my network. I have some very limited experience, using Terminal Services. What kind of information need to work on my computer is not available. In addition, in order to log on from home I actually, this RDP is, in fact, is not the answer Etsin.Kiitos help.
