some people told me they’ll start their own business b/c they don’t want to work to make others wealthy. Why?

Why people do not like other people rich, but not work for the company and instead to start their own business? Get jealous (jealous of rich people)? Or is it just motivation to make more money by starting your own business?

It’s usually to make more money for themselves. I wouldn’t say it’s jealousy. It’s more like selfishness because they want to help themselves rather than others, which is fine in some cases.

But sometimes, it’s a delusion that they may make more money for themselves, without experience or a good amount of spare cash. They may not know what they are getting themselves into if they are inexperienced in starting their own business.

In some cases, it is impractical to start your own business and more practical to work for someone else, especially if the business is a large one. This is why most people work for someone else, usually a large corporation, because they don’t have the resources (time, money, capital, machines, labor) to start one on their own. In business, it’s called a company’s huge barrier to entry.
