How to Prioritize Your Time in a Home Business

Home Business Tips – Time, Do You Value Yours?
By Carla McNeil

What I used to believe was business building I now realize was a waste of my time. My biggest learning was cleaning, I don’t mean keeping myself organized, but dusting often, re-organizing how things were placed on the desk or re-creating systems I had not even put into practice.

Where do you waste your time?

Value your time, just a little bit more! You must establish your priorities in order to:

1) eliminate procrastination

2) re-create fundamental habits

There will always be a fork in the decision making road, second by second you make decisions. By establishing your priorities you will give yourself a map to use on the decision making road. My priority is to write for a minimum of 15 minutes every day. When other distractions come along I can ask myself “what is my priority right now?” and because I know the answer the decision is easy!

Core tasks in building a home business;

1) delegating & outsourcing

2) learning technology & applying

3) finding sound routines & foundations

You need to get these handled so that you can focus on what grows your business. Building relationships is what grows home business, whether in person or on the internet. The processes are different but the result is the same.

When it comes to getting the important tasks done you need to focus on what you need to do right NOW. Ask yourself, “What is the most important task/project that I need to do right now?” When you start to ask these types of questions you begin to value your time.

Understand in the beginning you will waste your time. This is because of habits you have created over the years. Some of my habits were so deeply ingrained I didn’t even realize what I was doing was not in my own best interest.

We all have 86,400 seconds per day how you use them is your decision. Each and every one of your decisions will either empower your or destroy you. Take powerful action steps:

1) plan

2) consistent persistent action

Commit to daily focused action steps, here are three examples that you can start with;

1) show up on time, for everything
