Case Study – SEO Success Stories

Nuclear SEO

SEO Success Stories are something for us all to watch and learn. The pros in the industry battle it out for the #1 spots for highly search phrases.

There’s a lot to optimizing for search engines. Correct keyword distribution, balancing the demands of search engines with those of human visitors, meta tags, backlinks, human delight – all with hundreds of different variants.

The keyword ‘cheap flights’ is searched some 8,077 times per day according to keyword research company Wordtracker. Consider that at least half of all searchers click on the first result – that’s big business!

Who owns that #1 spot?

Well, from my computer sitting in the UK (IP address affects search results) I consistently get cheapflights.co.uk. Cheapflights.co.uk employs dozens of different SEO techniques – some completely unnoticeable without digging much deeper – to score #1 at Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.

Let’s cover the basics here:

• They use there keyword “cheap flights” often, but without spamming. Wherever the keyword is, it fits logically and grammatically into place.
• They ensure that there keyword populates the meta tags
• They ensure the keyword features in some anchor text links
• They ensure that backlinks feature the keyword and/or related keywords.

Search Engines are in the business of providing the best editorial search results so that they get a loyal and frequent base of searchers, who in turn are more likely to click on adverts. You inadvertently earn Google hundreds of dollars just by ’surfing the net’.

But you’ll only stay there if you get good service…

So Google’s interests are in getting you the best material, and filtering out the irrelevant content – as well as the manipulators. Don’t think that trying to manipulate Google is a long-term sustainable solution to driving traffic to your website.

Top SEO Tip: Work with the Search Engines, not against them.
