How To Get Started With Video Blogging (Vlogging)
Vlogging (Video Blogging) – Get Started
By Shawn V
Vlogging (Video Blogs) have become very popular on the internet and it is a way for you to get yourself onto the internet and grow a community full of people who can relate to you.
Why video blog? If you’re that type of person who isn’t a fan of typing out a full story of your take and what is on your mind, video blogging is for you. It also lets people see who you are and can grow a fanbase/community quickly.
So what is needed to start a video blog? First off, make a YouTube account. A very simple setup and uploads videos quickly. If you haven’t heard of youtube yet, you have now. Start a blog too. I suggest using blogspot. Blogspot is very easy to setup and has a good choice of templates to make your site look nice. With these two things, you can upload videos to YouTube, and then embed the video onto your blog site. To embed your video, after your video uploads, go view your video. On the right side of the video in the grey box next to your video, there will be an embed and in the white box is text. Highlight that text and copy it. Simply paste it in your blog post on your blog site.
Now that we have our YouTube and blog site setup. You can focus on a camera to buy. The best camera to use for vlogging are Flip Cams. http://www.theflip.com. Not only are these cameras inexpensive, they are very easy to use. If you have money, go spend it on the Flip HD Cam. The video looks amazing. With Flip Cams, they are very easy to upload to your computer. If you want to edit your videos, which most people do. If you own a PC, go with Windows Movie Maker. It should come with your computer. It’s very easy to use. If you own a Mac. Use iMovie. iMovie is also easy to use, but takes a little more time to get the hang of it than Windows Movie Maker.
Many people video blog, and some are even getting paid to do so. It’s a growing hobby on the internet. I also suggest starting a twitter account too. http://www.twitter.com. It’s a simple social network. You pretty much say what you are doing. You can inform your followers on a video blog update.
