What You Should Know Before You Join PLR Membership Site

Article by Zachary R. Skinner
One of the fastest and best ways to get quality content quickly is to join a PLR membership site. Finding PLR membership sites to join is not a terribly difficult task. All you need to do is go to Yahoo, Google, MSN, Dogpile, or some other search engne and type in “PLR Articles” or “PLR membership site” and you should have no problems locating PLR membership sites to join. Prices range from a month to a month with the average being in the to range. At the time of this writing, PLR content is currently very popular and profitable and I have every reason to suspect that PLR membership sites will likewise become very popular.
Because of rampant fraud and widespread deception I also suspect that many of the emerging PLR membership sites will be, for lack of a better word, rip-offs and not be worth your pocket change. Therefore it’s very important to consider a few things before you fork over your hard earned cash.
Here is a helpful checklist of things you may want to consider before you join a PLR membership site:
1) Do they limit the number of members?- Most PLR membership sites limit the number of memberships available. Some PLR membership sites do not set limits on the number of memberships that can be sold. Obviously the more people who have access to the same articles the less unique your info product will be and thus the less money you will ultimately make.
2) Do they allow you to sell PLR rights?- You do not want to join a PLR membership site that allows you to also sell PLR rights to their content. This means that even if the site does limit the number of memberships the articles will still be widely distributed thus diminishing the uniqueness of the articles.
3) What are the restrictions on the articles?- A PLR license is not necessarily a license to anything you want with the articles. Different membership sites place different restrictions on what can and can not be done with their articles. Ideally you want to select a PLR membership site that allows you to do anything except sell the PLR rights to the articles. You want to be absolutely certain that you have reviewed the license agreement before you become a member of any PLR site. They should either have a copy posted to their website or be able to send you one.
4) Ask To See Samples Of Their Content- Before you start buying articles you really need to know if the articles you are buying are high quality or total crap. The vast majority of PLR membership sites will either have samples of their content available on their website or will freely send you samples if you request them. If you have no way of viewing their content before you join then you should probably look elsewhere.
5) Know the source of the PLR content- Some PLR membership sites get all their content from one source so although they limit the number of memberships available, in reality their articles are available to potentially thousands of other people. Ideally you want to join a PLR membership site that creates the content available to members themselves.
6) Does the PLR site use a credit system?- A PLR membership site that uses the credit system is really great because rather than paying one membership fee and then having access to all of their content, much of which you might not use, the credit system allows you to only pay only for the content you actually use. As of this writing there are very few PLR membership sites who employ the credit system. I predict that the credit system will likely become more widespread because it allows the PLR sites to increase their gross revenues while at the same time limiting the use of their content. The credit system is a big win for both the creator and buyer of the PLR content.
If you follow the guidelines above and chose the right PLR membership, you can have access to a goldmine of information. A really fantastic example of a PLR membership site is proplrpackages.com They have great articles on profitable subjects, reasonable membership fees, a broad PLR license that allows you to do just about anything with their articles (other than sell the PLR license), and they are one of the few PLR membership sites who currently use the credit system rather than the flat fee system.
It’s also worth noting that there are many ways to make money with PLR articles and there’s a real good chance that you don’t know about all of them. I suggest taking a look at How To Turn PLR Into Cash and Build A Massive Opt-In List by Reed Floren and Stephanie Mulac. This report is packed with awesome ideas you probably never thought of before and, best of, it’s only .
Good luck with your PLR ventures!
