Internet Marketing – What Are Your Business Goals For This Year?
Friday, December 3rd, 2010Internet Marketing – What Are Your Business Goals For This Year?
To start the year off right, just as every year, getting your business goals planned out is top priority. If this is the first time reading something about this or you personally don’t care to set up goals or a plan of action, read this post and reconsider giving it a try to make this year your most profitable year yet!
When asking about goal setting to friends and those I’ve mentored in Internet Marketing, I hear a lot of the same answer. “I plan on making a lot of money!” “I’ll set a plan once I’m making a consistent income.” “I’ll set up goals and a business plan when I’m not making good money anymore!” As you can imagine these responses go on and on.
Truth behind it is that if you are making good money online, then you don’t necessarily feel you need to write out goals for the year as long as you continue to make good money. For me learning how to set internet marketing goals has taken my online business and almost doubled it within the past year.
Writing out my business goals for 2010 has given me a chance to take a closer look at all aspects of my online business and determine two things. What am I doing well and can take to the next level… and what am I not doing well and perhaps need to change or work at?
I have the year split into 4 quarters and for each quarter; I have a list of things I feel I should have achieved by the date. If I fall behind on the goal, I can really look at why I came up short and re-organize my business to get on track to meeting or succeeding the goals for next quarter.
By the end of the year, I find that because of the goals set for the year, I am more organized and driven to reach the goals.
For any new marketers who are confused on how to plan out the year when they haven’t even started, I will go through an example for you. Let’s say you are brand new in 2010 and not sure of the first steps to take. The way to set up your business goals for 2010 would look something like this:

That is pretty much the “fundamentals” on how to set Internet Marketing goals.
As you can see, all the tasks to get to the next goal level are laid out. Your next step is to set up a day to day process to follow for every week that outlines all the tasks above. Organization is key to getting you to the next level.
Now the above goals were an example and may seem a little “out of reach” as far as achieving them, but feel free to copy them down to help you get your business more on track. As you work towards your goals, you notice that they aren’t so “out of reach” as long as you put in the time and effort.
